Team Biosteins

Instead of assigning all tasks in a department to a single individual, our team opted for a fair distribution of responsibilities among its members. Although a team lead was appointed, all decisions and choices were made through a democratic process. The team lead primarily played a pivotal role in reinvigorating progress whenever it encountered obstacles. Moreover, we maintained an open communication policy, granting every team member the freedom to express their thoughts at any given time, thereby fostering an environment conducive to the project's advancement.

Moses Sandoval

M Sandoval I’m Moses Sandoval. I have been tasked with organizing the team and pushing the team to meet project deadlines and goals. Due to my experience in quality engineering I have had the opportunities to directly interact with technologies that need to meet the many different iso protocols required by the FDA. It is because of this I believe I was able to make great contributions to our project regarding the Novel Flushable Loader.

Alanna Genoves

A Genoves My name is Alanna and I have been responsible for the market analysis on the Biosteins team. Throughout the duration of our product design research, I helped in the understanding of the market we are entering and provided information on any companies that we may be competing against. I also had the opportunity to assist my teammate Sam in the development of this website. Through my experience in this project I have learned and relearned many essential engineering skills including device prototyping and HTML coding.

Hector Pineda

H Pineda Hello, I am Hector and my task was coordinating the whole overall project where because our team split up multiple times for different delegated tasks I was in charge of communicating between the different tasks and people to make sure that everyone contributed equally and help if needed, balancing the team as we worked towards our group goals. This included helping with designing one of our versions through solidworks, helping with multiple different quality tests for our design using word and excel for data acquisition and overall trying to help in any way possible.

Sam Bayat

S Bayat Hey! I'm Sam Bayat, and I was responsible for the initial design mockup and overseeing prototyping and manufacturing. My experience in past biology and engineering labs allowed me to better understand 3D printing, modeling, and surfaces, to more efficently advise the process along. Additionally, I, along with my teammate Alanna, was tasked with coding this very website, allowing me to gain familiarity with javascript and html. Through this project, I was able to apply my technical engineering knowledge to more efficently troubleshoot the R&D process.

Jeannie Liang

J Liang Hi, my name is Jeannie Liang and I was responsible for the manufacturing of our device. Using my experiences in CAD (SOLIDWORKS) and prototyping, I was able to work with the team to come up with different iterations of designs. Together with the team we were able to produce the final prototype to successfully perform the end goal of improving efficiency during the preparation of the TAVR procedure. Through this project, I have also learned other valuable skills such as testing and understanding FDA standards.
